Made for the way you write

Your language can stay close, wherever you are.

Diyar was created far from Iran for people who move between Persian and English all day. It removes a small interruption from a very personal part of work: writing.

How it works

Keep your hands on the keys you know.

No repeated trip to the Windows language switcher. Type with the English layout and let Diyar handle the Persian words.

  1. 01

    Stay on English

Leave the Windows keyboard on the English layout.

  2. 02

    Write as usual

Type Persian using the physical keys you already know.

  3. 03

    Keep your meaning

Diyar converts Persian words and protects English text around them.

For people who want the details

Smart mode checks a word when you finish it and converts only when there is enough evidence that you meant Persian. It protects recognized English words and technical text such as URLs, email addresses, file paths, versions, and code. Short words use nearby context. If an editor or field cannot be checked safely, Diyar leaves the text unchanged; password and read-only fields are pass-through. Explicit selection commands use Windows Text Services Framework (TSF) so Diyar can work with the text model exposed by supported editors.

Persian on a Windows screen

A sentence is more than a set of converted keys.

Persian writing needs the right direction, punctuation, spacing, and treatment of English words. Diyar is built around the full sentence, so mixed text can stay readable across many Windows apps.

Private by design

Your typing stays yours.

Your typing stays on your device. Diyar sends no typing input or usage telemetry. The only text sent outside your device is text you explicitly select and request to translate after configuring Azure with your own API key.

Typing correction happens locally

Dictionaries remain local

No analytics or telemetry

On-device translation stays on your device

Configured Azure receives only text you explicitly select and request to translate

The meaning behind the name

Created far from home.

For Persian speakers wherever they may be, and for a language that travels with us. It started with a simple idea: make writing Persian on a computer feel natural again.

Created far from home, in memory of home.

دور از دیار، به یاد دیار.

A few clear answers

Questions, answered.

How can I install Diyar?

Choose Microsoft Store to open Diyar’s listing and install through the Store. You can also download the ZIP package directly from this site. The direct package’s filename and version are shown in the download section.

What does Diyar do?

It helps you type Persian while Windows stays on the English keyboard layout. Type sghl and, when Diyar has enough evidence, it converts the word to سلام while leaving recognized English terms in mixed text.

Do I need to switch my Windows keyboard?

No. The core workflow is designed for typing Persian from the English layout.

What if I want to type in English?

Recognized English words, names, URLs, and technical terms are protected. In direct Persian typing mode, hold your chosen modifier key to type English.

Can I type Persian without automatic correction?

Yes. Direct typing mode maps each key to Persian immediately; it does not guess words or read the editor's text. Hold the configured key to type English.

Does automatic typing work the same in every app?

No. Editors expose text differently. Diyar is conservative: if it cannot confirm that a replacement is safe, it leaves the word as typed. Password and read-only fields are passed through.

Does Diyar send what I type?

No. Typing and local translation stay on your device. Only after you enter your own API key and configure Azure Translator, select text, and explicitly request its translation does Diyar send that selected text directly to Azure and receive the translated result. Merely configuring the key does not send your typing.

Is Diyar an AI writing assistant?

No. Its core correction is local and deterministic. Translation is a separate, explicit feature.

Does it work offline?

Typing correction and local dictionaries are designed to work on-device. Cloud translation requires an internet connection and is optional.

Can I add my own words?

Yes. Diyar supports a personal dictionary, word review, and import and export options.

Which Windows versions are supported?

The current project targets Windows 10 and Windows 11 on x64.

What if a word is converted incorrectly?

Backspace can restore the original keystrokes after an automatic conversion. Use the undo shortcut after an explicit conversion, or add the selected word to your dictionary.

Is translation required?

No. Translation is separate from typing correction and can be left off.
